The SAFF list shows a "2177 Pte. T DAVIS" of 7th Coy, 4th Bn IY as Killed at Honingsklip on 05021901. Only other casualty at that location on that day was a WiA. No correction I could find in SAFF; so I suppose someone got his initial wrong.

I can easily imagine someone transcribing a badly written J. Davis as 'T. Davis' or maybe trying to decipher Davis' own signature.

WO100 and WO128 confirm his correct name and him being killed in action, a very impressive plaque.
