B. Order

The following orders in connection with the Strathcona’s Horse are published for the information of all concerned :-

Captain C. F. Winter, The Governor General’s Foot Guards will act as Brigade Major until the 12th inst.

(1) Wednesday, 7th March 1900

The Regiment will parade at Lansdowne Park at 2 p.m. There Excellencies, the Governor General and Lady Minto have been pleased to signify there intention of being present at 3.15 p.m. o’clock.

(2) Thursday, 8th March 1900

The Regiment will parade at 9 a.m., and march to the Parliament Square for the purpose of the presentation of Guidons by Ladies of the Civil Service at 11.30 a.m.

Route

On coming onto town the following will be the streets taken by the troops :-
Elgin to McLeod, McLeod to Metcalf, Metcalf to Parliament Square, entering by main gate.

The Regiment will be drawn up in mass. His Excellency the Governor General has been pleased to signify his intention of being present. The Premier Sir Wilfred Laurier G.C.M.G., and members of the Cabinet, His Worship the Mayor and City Council will also be present. After the presentation the troops will leave the grounds and march through the following streets :-

Parliament Square to Rideau Street, via Wellington Street. Rideau to Nicholas, returning to Rideau to Sparkes, Sparkes to Bank to Lansdowne Park.

(3) Sunday, 11 March 1900

The Regiment will attend Divine Service at 11 a.m. as under:-

Church of England at Christ Church Cathedral, Presbyterians at St. Andrews, Roman Catholics at (to be determined) :-

For Church Parade the Ottawa Electric Railway will transport the Officers and Men from Lansdowne Park to Gilmore Street where all will detrain and form up on Gilmore Street preparatory to marching to the respective churches. The line of march will be Bank and Sparkes Streets. Returning from church the parties will entrain Ann Street.
