This Regiment was formed in the early part of the 19th Century and disbanded soon after Waterloo.

Another regiment of the same name was formed between February and June 1901 and disbanded in 1905. They served during the SA War at Gibraltar and Malta.

No medal roll for this regiment.

Rifle records state (in letter of 29-6-18) that 'all docts, Army Book 358 and records of the Royal Garrison Regiment are in the possession of the Sec, RH, Chelsea'
