Subtitle: Medal for Militia units serving at Gibraltar, Malta and in Egypt

1. His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve the grant of a medal to the Militia units who volunteered for service abroad during the South African war, and whose services were accepted. The medal, in silver, will, provided the claims are approved by the Commander-in-Chief, be issued to all officers, warrant officers, non-commissioned officers and man of the Militia, including the permanent staff, who served on garrison duty with these units at Gibraltar, Malta, or in Egypt between the 11th October, 1899, and 31st May, 1902.

2. The ribbon to be worn with this medal will be the same as that approved for the South Africa medal.

3. Commanding Officers will prepare nominal rolls, in triplicate, of the individuals entitled to the medal, and forward them, as early as practicable, to the Adjutant-General, War Office, London, S.W. A supply of printed forms of rolls will be sent to each unit concerned.

4. The names of officers, warrant officers, and permanent staff will be entered in order of rank, and those of Militia non-commissioned officers and men in alphabetical order.

5. The names of individuals who, under Articles 613, 737, 1256, and 1258 of the Pay Warrant have forfeited the medal are to be included in the rolls, their names being entered in red ink, and the cause of forfeiture stated in the last column. The names of individuals who have become non-effective by death, transfer, discharge, &c. should also be similarly entered in red ink.

6. This medal will not be issued to any person who receives the South Africa medal under Army Order 94 of 1901.
