These cigars were produced in Holland to commemorate the life of General Christiaan De Wet. Advertisements for them appeared in
Nieuwsblad van het Noorden in October 1925, though I imagine they had been available since 1922, the year of the Boer general's death. Constructed from tin, with applied printed paper, simulating wood.
This was the second time De Wet's name had been used to sell tobacco products, with advertisements being placed in
Provinciale Noordbrabantsche en 's Hertogenbossche Courant for "Generaal Christiaan De Wet" cigars in March 1901.

De Wet's portrait was also used for the French cigar brand, "Boer Cigare". As yet, I haven't found any reference to these.
