That seems correct, you could perhaps add the following at the bottom:

Looks spot on - ends with "Thanking you in anticipation." and, lastly, "Approved."

To me, what looks like 'Piet' is actually 'het'. I would therefore suggest :

Mr L.C. Odendaal is still disabled today from the Bothaville battle, has ceased his service as a result of this serious wound. The oubaas has asked me to take action regarding the medal, thus I should be glad if you would please expedite it.

Having had another look, I think the word after "tog" is "seker", in which case that sentence would begin : "The oubaas has asked me to make sure about the medal ..."
