Hi
I am researching a group of East Lancashire Volunteers who sailed on the SS Malta on 23 March 1901, arriving in Cape Town on 15th April 1901 and I trying to find an image of the ship. I hope someone can help. Also where would I find the ship's log?
I hope someone can help
Many thanks in advance, Tony

Hi Tony
I found this image. Not sure if it is your ship regarding the Lancashire Volunteers.
Do you have anymore information to share?

The Malta and the Sunda have been engaged by the Admiralty for the conveyance of about 2,000 Yeomanry to South Africa. This information was taken from the March 1901 shipping records. Source London Times March 1901.

The Malta, from Albert Docks, 23 Mar 1,101 officers and men, including 448 I Y, Volunteer Companies from Royal Lancaster, Lincolnshire, East Lancashire, Black Watch, & Shropshire Light Infantry, and drafts for the Suffolks and Leicestershires.

Many thanks for the image. I am researching Private 7358 John Thomas Shipstone of the 2nd Volunteer Service Company 1st Battalion East Lancashire Regiment. The attached file contains the information I have found on him. I have attached an image for a newspaper that reports on the sailing
