PS I have fond memories of Tony Clarke's bookshop in Long Street, Cape Town, 40 and more years ago. There was nothing else to compare with it then and it was a
'home from home' for book lovers. Tony was a modest and retiring man and some of us were surprised to learn that he had been awarded the MC during WWII.
