What are you trying to categorise? Do you mean cavalry or infantry? If you let me have a bit more info I might be able to help.
Best regards.

The Border Horse were raised in the Cape on the 1st of February 1900, the rank and file papers are in WO126/5 at Kew, from memory they were disbanded on the 30th of June 1901.
Which "light horse" are you talking about?

Assume you must actually be talking about the Imperial Light Horse, rank and file papers are in WO126/55-65 at Kew.
