Hi Adrian,
But, why suggest that the roll did not exist when it actually does?
Moreover, I do think that £425 is a bit of a nowhere sort of price, that money would buy you a half decent Talana these days, I think I paid about £130 or so for the first one I bought, a good number of years ago now.
Regards Frank

I must agree with you 100%. I did email Chelsea and I did receive a reply from Richard to say that he would remove the medal from his listing forthwith. He mentioned that 2 researchers could not confirm the clasps.

My point is then" If in doubt don't add to the list"

I wonder if the medal will re appear at some point with the correct clasps???

Regards
Adrian

Frank

Perhaps they looked at the roll of the SAC "C" Division like I did and could not find him when the names beginning with "W" came up and ended and there was no more. They then just assumed that the page was missing??

If they had checked through the other pages they would have found it as I did. Who knows??

I agree with you, the price is a bit odd as if this was indeed a verified Talana/Elandslaagte medal it would sell for a rather large sum. They are as rare as hens teeth. As I mentioned before only a few issued.

Pat Rundgren states that only two men had both, they were both Carbineers from Dundee in Natal.
Tpr H.A. Craig and Cpl J. Watson. I have however heard that there were more than two???

Cheers

I seem to remember "our man in Natal" did a very successful thread on the NC last year, I still don't have any!

Nope, no joke.

I tend to collect QSA/KSA Groups to the CP. Bit odd for a Natal boy but there it is!!
