Hi there - this is my first time on this forum.

My grandfather Charles Reginald DOMONE was a Cape Medical Staff Corps member during the Boer War. I have done a lot of research over the years, even went to Kew to the National Archives, trying to find a phone of the Company my grandfather was in during his time in the CSMC. I do have two of his medals - but no photo. I do think from my research that he was in Company B but I am not 100% sure.

Just enquiring on this forum if anyone would have a photo or could advise me if any photos are held in any historical location.

Thank you.

Kerrin,

Welcome to the forum and apologies for the delay in responding to you.

The CMSC was a large unit but I don't recall many pictures of the men who served in it.

I would suggest that Cape Town might be a better place to search for pictures. Have you tried the Castle Museum?

I should forewarn you that named pictures are something of a rarity. One of the most frustrating aspects of group pictures from the Boer War is the lack of names to identify the people in the pictures.

Kind regards
David
