Hello everyone,
I have recently acquired the QSA to No. 35949, Trooper Frank Tucker, 40th Coy, 10th Bn, Imperial Yeomanry.
An interesting entry in his service papers states that he was sentenced by Field General Court Martial at Klerksdorp on 29 April, 1902, to 28 days imprisonment with hard labour.
I have checked reference WO 90/6 at the National Archives (Courts Martial Abroad) and he is not listed.
Does anyone know where I might discover what was Trooper Tucker's offence that he was tried for? Are there any Imperial Yeomanry or other records which might list the information I am seeking?

Hi Nick,

An intriguing question. Other than the two sources you have already identified (the service papers and 90/6), I am not aware of other places to look for this sort of information.

Does anyone else know if this information is accessible?

Gentlemen.....

I just rec'd from Kew a copy of the service documents of a man in my collection and included with his service documents was a 19 page transcript of his Courts Martial for being Drunk on Duty and Refusing a Direct Order......

This was his third offence and he was discharged from the unit as Unfit For Further Military Duty.....
