Hello David

I have found the papers for 4002 Charles Leslie on Find My Past, here are some details:
Charles was from Newcsatle Upon Tyne and attested on the 19th June 1894
He was 23 years old and his occupation is listed as a groom, at the time he was serving with the Militia in the 9th Batt. KRRC
He was listed as 5feet 10 weighing 155lbs with a 38" chest, blue eyes, fair hair and his denomination was Church of England.
His record shows he was tried and imprisoned twice, once for 42 days and another occasion for 91 days.
He served At Home, Malta, Jamaica, South Africa and then at home.
He was awarded the QSA with clasps Transvaal and South Africa 1902.
Hope this helps.

Paul

Forgot to add he served with the Royal Artillery rather than the Royal Garrison Artillery.

Unable to find much on E Battson apart from what you have except his number was T/8359 and he served with the Army Service Corps (ASC) the prefix Royal was granted later (RASC)
