Attached are some private photos which I believe were owned by someone with the surname Pfaff - are these Boer war period? Captions of the photos reference a strike at Jo'burg, keeping the crowd in order, as well as the remains of the railway station

Thank you for posting these interesting pictures.

While I am not sure from which period they belong, they do not feel like Boer War images. The barricades in the town and the style of the helmets do suggest a later time to me.

Do you know the first name of the Pfaff you referred to. Might have been Major David Pfaff (ABO Utrecht Commando) - he also participated in the 1907 Natal Rebellion and later WWI. Some photos might have been from 1907 Rebellion and others from the 1922 Rand Strike. See below his medal group.
