This comes from EFV's collection, and is a previously unseen (by me anyway!) photo of men at the rapids on the Tugela about 1.5 km south of Hart's Hill. Though the caption says `'British scouts`', the men look like Boers and all carry Mausers. Morreover there is a partly obliterated label at the bottom.
Can anyone decipher it?
