While researching Corpl. C G Durham of the Imperial Light Horse I noticed on the page from the Nominal Roll the words Sub? Rand R.
I am assuming on discharge from the ILH he joined the Rand Rifles. Could someone tell me what "Sub" ? refers to. (See Picture 2)

Your surmise is correct. I read sub as the abbreviation for subsequent service.
