Good morning
I am looking for some info on a relation of mine. GNR James Delaney 86590 14th bty. R.F.A. I have a medal from the relief of lady smith. From family sources I believe he was killed in one of the battles around lady smith. He enlisted on 22nd sept 1891 in Dublin and served in the 70th batty R.A in Merrut. Any information relating to his service or leads to reference sources would be of great help.

I didn't expect to find any papers because I thought the service papers for those who died in service or were killed were destroyed. Is this not always the case? Good luck!
