While we have several threads on KSAs and no clasp KSAs, we don't yet have a thread on single clasp KSAs.

This is partly prompted by this pair being sold by Noble Numismatics to 251 Pte William M Legh, 1st NSWMR.

Probably not the best example to start with as it looks like this KSA is a false entitlement.

Sadly I am missing the QSA that goes with it and would love to have a reunite.....

In my files I have record of a previous sale of a single bar medal to the Scottish Horse in 1984 for L 110.00 do not know what they would go for now.....

I also have a partial list of numbers and names of people who were issued the single bar.....

3 for K.O.S.B.
8 for Scot. Rifles
8 for Innis. Fus.
7 for Glouc. Regt.
3 for East Surrey
4 for West Riding
5 for Border Regt.
1 for Hampshire Regt.

If you've a copy of the Spink 1999 catalogue to hand (I'm away from mine) there was a superb group to Colonel M.O. Little which included a KSA single clasp South Africa 1902.

Take a look at an article in the OMRS Journal, Volume 31, Number 1, (No. 214) Spring 1992, Page 20 and 21.

Has a list broken down by regiment of the 502 single bar KSA's issued.....
