YAN YEAN.

At the invitation of Mr and Mrs Tighe, about one hundred friends assembled at their residence, Yan Yean railway station, on Saturday evening, the 3rd inst., to welcome home their son Thomas, who has lately returned from South Africa, being absent about fifteen months as a member of the Fifth Contingent. After wishing him a most hearty welcome his health was drunk in flowing bumpers. Dancing, interspersed by songs, was kept up till 11.30 p.m., when after partaking of the luxurious refreshments provided the party dispersed.
