Baden-Powell Medal.

A handsome gift which is to be sent to General Baden-Powell, the hero of Mafeking, by the residents of Wynyard is at present on view at Mr F. Stewart's jewellery shop, in Brisbane Street. It is in the form of a gold medal and clasp attached to a tricolour ribbon, and is both appropriate and original. The face of the medal consists of 10 small divisions under glass, in each of which is a specimen of the principal minerals of Tasmania, and round the edge in raised letters are the words, "Relief of Mafeking, June 10, 1900". On the reverse side is the monogram of the hero of the hour, "R.S.S.B.P.", round which are the words "Presented by the People of Wynyard, Tasmania". The medal is a splendid specimen of the jeweller's art.
