PRESENTATION TO WETHERBY VOLUNTEERS.

ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING AT THE DRILL HALL.

The Drill Hall at Wetherby was yesterday evening crowded with an enthusiastic audience to do honour to several Wetherby men who have returned from the war in South Africa. Mr T. Snape presided over the gathering.

Mr Kell, an old Volunteer, made a series of presentations to the men in the name of the town. Gunner Jack JOHNSON, of the Royal Garrison Artillery, who served in Kimberley during the whole of the siege, was the recipient of a handsome silver watch, with guard and medal. Similar mementoes were presented to Privates ATKINSON and DALBY; and to Private DAWSON, who has elected to stay in South Africa. Beautiful clocks were given to Privates WARDLE and SWALE, and a handsome brass fender to Trooper G.H. JOHNSON.

The meeting was particularly enthusiastic, and cheers were again and again given for the returned men.
