On Tuesday evening Private A.H. COX, one of the selected volunteers for South Africa, was presented with a handsome gold locket by the Vicar, Guardians, teachers and members of the choir of St. Paul's Church of England. The presentation took place in the Guild Hall, the Rev. H.F. Scott presiding. Mr R.J. Cherry, superintendent of the Sunday School, made the presentation and referred to Private COX's services for the past seven years as librarian of the Sunday School. Private COX had the good wishes of all connected with the church, and they hoped to welcome him back with honours when the war was over. Mr St. Leger addressed a few kindly words of encouragement on behalf of the guardians and Mr Bell for the choir. The Rev. Mr Scott responded for Private COX who was too overcome to give voice to his feelings of gratitude for the kindly feeling shown to him.
