A social was given at Johnson’s Hotel, Salisbury, on Wednesday evening, February 28, to bid farewell and God-speed to Mr W. CRADDOCK, who is a member of the Bushmen's Contingent, and it was attended by a large number of townspeople, who displayed their feelings in a very patriotic way. The hero of the evening was presented with a pretty medal and chain, suitably inscribed, as a memento of respect and esteem from his friends. Toasts and speeches, interspersed with songs and recitations, helped to make the evening enjoyable.
