SOCIETY OF HOUSE AND SHIP PAINTERS AND DECORATORS. – A most successful smoker was held at the Douglas Hotel, South Shields, under the auspices of the above society, a capital programme of vocal and instrumental music being rendered. During the evening Brother Roberts presented on behalf of the members of the society a splendid gold albert and appendage, suitably inscribed, to Brother G. HEWISON, who has been doing his duty as a reservist with his regiment in South Africa.
