PRESENTATION TO A SHREWSBURY IMPERIAL YEOMAN.
At the Park Inn, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury, on Wednesday night, Trooper J. AMBLER, of the Shropshire Imperial Yeomanry, was presented with a gold albert and pendant, the latter bearing he following inscription: – “Presented to Trooper J. AMBLER, on his return from South Africa, 1901”. The presentation was made by Mr J. Roberts, and a large number of subscribers attended. Mr Roberts congratulated Trooper AMBLER on returning home safe and sound from South Africa in a very arduous campaign, and said that his numerous friends felt they could not allow such an opportunity to go by without giving expression in a tangible manner to their appreciation of his bravery in volunteering for active service. Trooper AMBLER in a suitable manner gave his thanks to the subscribers.
