HOME AGAIN.

Geo. SCHELL, son of Mrs C. Schell of this village, returned from South Africa on Friday, having been absent a little over a year. Mrs Schell went to the city Friday to meet him, and a thankful mother returned with her won the following day. George is feeling well and during the past week has called on many friends in the village and vicinity. With the exception of a slight attack of tonsilitis before he embarked, his health was good while he was away, and although he appears to have been in the thickest of the fight as a driver in the artillery, he came through it all without a scratch. The young soldier never lost a day’s pay, and his bank account is evidence that he did not squander his hard-earned money. Although only 24 years of age, Mr SCHELL has already seen a good deal of the world, but his mother hopes he will now settle in this section of the country. “The Liberal” joins with our citizens generally in congratulations on George’s safe return to his home and country.

CARNIVAL TO-NIGHT.

A Presentation and Fancy Dress Carnival will be held in the rink this evening under the auspices of the Hockey Club. During the evening Driver Geo. SCHELL, No. 115, who has just returned from South Africa, will be presented with a gold locket and chain.
