Trooper William HUGHES, who went to South Africa with the Ninth Contingent, and was before that a member of the Cheviot Mounted Rifles, was welcomed home at a social held in Port Robinson on Monday evening. There was a good attendance, and a very pleasant evening wad spent. Trooper HUGHES has been presented by the residents of Port Robinson with a gold medal.
