TROOPER C. SIMPSON.

A correspondent writes: – An enthusiastic concert was held at Lefroy on Friday evening to welcome Trooper C. SIMPSON home from South Africa. He was presented with a Maltese cross, suitably inscribed, and a purse of sovereigns, subscribed for by the residents of Lefroy. There was a very lengthy programme, which was well carried out, and to particularise which would be invidious, as each performer did so well. Mr G.F. Grubb was chairman, and the presentation was made by the Rev. T. Roberts in a very well-chosen and appropriate address. After the concert was concluded by singing "Rule Britannia" and "God Save the King", dancing was indulged in by the young folk till an early hour in the morning.
