VOLUNTEER DANCE.

The members of the local section of H Coy. 7th V.B. A. & S.H., and friends, held their annual dance in the New Hall, Kincardine, last Friday evening. About forty couples took part in the proceedings, which were directed in a very able manner by Private Robert Gray. The walls of the hall were tastefully decorated with union jacks and ensigns, and excellent music was supplied. During the course of the evening, Captain C.W.L. ROSS, who served as Lieut. in the second active service company during the war in South Africa, was presented with a dressing-case; and Private James McNIE, who served in the same company, with a gold badge. The bright uniforms of the officers and men of the company formed a pleasant contrast to the more sombre dress of the other gentlemen present. The committee in charge of the arrangements are to be congratulated on the success of the dance.
