A large gathering assembled on Tuesday at the Wellington Inn, Alma Terrace, on the occasion of a presentation being made to Private W. JOHNSON, of the 1st V.B. West Yorkshire Regiment, previous to his departure for the front. In the absence of Captain Pearson, Mrs Sharpe presented him with a silver albert and medal, subscribed for by members of the Fulford St Oswald’s Football Club and friends, and the gift was suitably acknowledged by him.
