A GOLD LOCKET SOUVENIR.

Presented to Mr Norman R. SHAW by His Fellow Employees of the Canadian Pacific.

The complimentary banquet tendered to Mr Norman R. SHAW, of the passenger department of the Canadian Pacific Railway, at the Place Viger Hotel, on Saturday evening, by his fellow members of the Passenger Department, on the occasion of his return from South Africa, was a very successful and pleasant affair.

Some forty persons sat down to the dinner, the colonization, advertising, telegraph and customs departments being also represented. After the dinner came toasts and speeches, that to the health of the evening’s guest, Mr SHAW, containing appropriately flattering references to his gallant service with the First Contingent in South Africa. Mr SHAW was also made the recipient of a valuable gold jewelled locket, on which was engraved the names of battles in which he had taken part. Another souvenir in the form of a purse containing gold coins was also presented to Mr SHAW.
