On his return, Private Pedder received a gold medal from the people of ORDIQUHILL (alternative name for Cornhill).

CORNHILL. – Last week, Private Colin PEDDER, of the A [sic] Company (sub-division) of the 6th V.B.G.H., was presented with a handsome gold mounted fountain pen and a silver chain and pendant from the volunteers and a few friends on the occasion of his departure for the front. Private PEDDER was a general favourite in the district, and it is hoped he may soon return again, with honours.

CORNHILL.

Private Colin PEDDER was last week presented with a handsome gold-mounted fountain pen and a silver chain and pendant from the volunteers and a few friends on the occasion of his leaving for the front.

Private PEDDER was a general favourite in the district, and it is hoped he may soon return without even a scratch – “except on his matchbox”.
