COOLANGATTA.

Trooper James CLARKE is the first Berry Lancer returned from the war to be entertained by the residents of Coolangatta. A ball in his honor was given in the hall at that place on Friday evening last, and was largely attended. A number of Lancers recently invalided home were present, including Trooper Jack McGEE, of the Lismore half-squadron.

Miss Hay, on behalf of the people, presented Trooper CLARKE with a gold watch and chain and medal, and several spirited addresses were delivered. A silver-mounted pipe was presented to Trooper McGEE. Both the returned soldiers are natives of Shoalhaven. Hearty cheers were given for the returned soldiers, the Queen and "Bobs".

The ball passed off very pleasantly.
