BEULAH. – Corporal T.H. KING, who a few days ago since returned from active service in South Africa, was met at the local railway station by members of the rifle club, who fired a volley, and in the evening was entertained by the members. A public reception was also tendered Corporal KING and Private RISEBOROUGH on Friday evening last, there being about 250 present. Both were made the recipients of a gold albert, with pendant, suitably inscribed. The following returned soldiers from this district were also present, viz. – Lance-Corporal FULLER, Troopers BURGESS, BRYMER, GANGE, and Staff-Sergeant TOWERS (of Gippsland). Corporal KING, who is a member of the local lodge of the A.N.A., was entertained by that body at a social, and presented with a gold medal.
