HOME FROM THE WAR.

BERRIWILLOCK. – A welcome home social was tendered at the Mechanics’ Hall on Monday evening to Trooper T.I. SMITH, of the A.I.R.  Trooper George A. NEVILLE, also of the A.I.R., who was invalided home some months ago, was present. Captain J.W. Sinden presided. Various patriotic songs were sung, and congratulatory speeches delivered by Captain Sinden, the Revs. Nelson and Richards, Trooper NEVILLE, Councillors J. Kilcullen, J. McManus, and Mr G.R. Godwin. Feeling reference was made to the death of one of the local soldiers, Trooper John KILEY, who fell in South Africa. At the close a presentation of a handsome gold medal was made to Trooper SMITH.
