Reference was made to the fact that between twenty and thirty members of the organisation had gone to South Africa with the Imperial Yeomanry, four of whom were killed at Lindley and elsewhere. While three had received commissions for their loyalty to duty in the field. There was also an allusion to the general secretary’s work as a chaplain with the troops in Africa.
