BAIRNSDALE. – There was a general turnout of the residents of Lower Nicholson on Thursday last to welcome home Troopers JOHNSTON and NEWTON, who were entertained at a monster picnic. In the evening a patriotic concert was held in the Union Church, and the returned soldiers were presented with gold lockets.
