ANDERSON'S CREEK. -

Last Thursday evening a concert and dance took place in the Mechanics' Hall, to welcome back and present a testimonial to Trooper J.B. THOMAS (born on the Creek), just returned from the war in South Africa. Mr H. Squires occupied the chair, and Mr C.A. Blair presented a gold locket, suitably inscribed, a gift of the inhabitants, to Trooper THOMAS. Speeches were made by Mr Blair, and by Mr Lupton, an old veteran of the 60th Imperial Rifles. THOMAS gave a short epitome of his African experiences.
