Wilkinson | Henry Thomas Diedrich | | Captain | WILKINSON, HENRY THOMAS DIEDRICH, Captain, was born on 19 June 1860, eldest son of Colonel H J Wilkinson, and of Mrs L C Wilkinson. He was educated at St Columba's College, Ireland, and Sandhurst, and entered the Army 22 January 1881; became Captain 13 April 1887; served in Burma, 1885-86, being present at the storming of the Minhla Redoubt, when attached to the 12th Madras NI; was wounded; mentioned in Despatches 22 June 1886; received the Medal and clasp, and was created a Companion of the Distinguished Service Order [London Gazette, 25 November 1887]: "Henry Thomas Diedrich Wilkinson, Captain, Essex Regiment. For services in Burma". He became Captain, Reserve of Officers, in April 1893; Temporary Major 25 April 1915, 5th Battalion Duke of Wellington's West Riding Regiment; Attached Depot, Durham Light Infantry, till demobilized 15 September 1919.
