Sowerby | Francis Hubert Airey | | Lieutenant | He died of dysentery at Kroonstad, ORC, on April 21st, 1901. He was educated at Wellington (Kempthornes from 1888-90), and entered the 3rd Battalion Durham Light Infantry in September 1898, being promoted Lieutenant December 1900. He volunteered for active service, and accompanied his battalion to South Africa in February 1900, and is reported to have served with distinction.
