Pilkington | Thomas Douglas | | 2nd Lieutenant | He was killed in action at Kaalboshfontein, July 11th, 1900. He was the son of Thomas Pilkington JP DL of Sandside, Caithness, and St Helen's, Lancashire. 2nd Lieutenant Pilkington was born in June 1876, educated at Eton, and entered the Royal Dragoons from the 3rd Battalion South Lancashire Regiment in June 1897. He was a DL for Caithnessshire. He had served in South Africa from the commencement of the war, having embarked with his regiment in October 1899.
