Murray | John Gammel Duff | | 2nd Lieutenant | He was killed in action at the battle of Elandslaagte, October 21st, 1899. He was the son of Surgeon Colonel John Murray, AMS, born January 1878, and educated at Wellington, where he was in the Anglesey. He entered the Gordon Highlanders from the Channel Islands Militia, March 1899, and had proceeded with his battalion from India to Natal in September.
