Imperial Yeomanry saddle roll and an officer's slouch hat, the latter having been worn by Captain R. T. Jones, 13th (Shropshire) Company Imperial Yeomanry. (The hat was a gift to the museum of Mr R. H. Hilton-Jones)

Left - Gold watch presented to Private J. R. Jones, 13th (Shropshire) Company Imperial Yeomanry, "by his friends and neighbours / as a token of their Appreciation of his Courage and Patriotism / PONTESBURY / June 17th, 1901" (The gift to the museum of Mr J. R. Jones)
Right - Silver watch presented to Private Richard Haughton, 13th (Shropshire) Company Imperial Yeomanry, "in recognition of his services / in the / S. African war / 1900 - 2nd May, 1902" (The gift to the museum of Miss B. J. Haughton)

The QSA of Lieutenant J. I. Benson, 13th (Shropshire) Company Imperial Yeomanry. On the right is a letter from his mother, sent to him while he was a prisoner, and behind the medal and letter is
Benson's commission into the regular army in 1901.

The QSA's of Sergeant H. P. Bonham (left) and Private T. R. Lewis, both of the 13th (Shropshire) Company Imperial Yeomanry.


Captain J. J. White's QSA with seven clasps.


A carved wooden pipe found in President Kruger's tent by the 2nd K.S.L.I., and a miniature Norwegian flag, also found in his tent.

The bugle of the 13th (Shropshire) Company Imperial Yeomanry, brought home by Private H. C. Walker. (The gift to the museum of Lieutenant-Colonel E. A. Kynaston) The inscription on the main part of the bugle reads [approximately] "13TH CO. / S. L. I. / HENRY POTTER & CO. / 30, CHARING CROSS / LONDON / 1899"

Inscribed: "Presented to Mr James R. Jones by his friends and neighbours on his return from South Africa, as a token of their appreciation of his courage and patriotism. Pontesbury, June 17, 1901".

Watch supplied by Mr A.C. Cleaver, watchmaker, Pontesbury.

Actual inscription (Paul Dunn Collection): "PRESENTED TO / Trooper F.H. Morris / OF THE / SHROPSHIRE IMPERIAL YEOMANRY / by numerous friends and well wishers / in appreciation of services rendered / IN SOUTH AFRICA 1901-2. / PONTESBURY, / January 23rd, 1903".

Presentation made by Mrs Harrison, in the National School, Pontesbury.

Note the use of the unusual name "Hamlet" by both troopers. This suggests they may have been related.
