I lived in York for many years and would visit it quite often. A very nice little museum that's packed with excellent exhibits that make it well beyond the scope of being called "little". Well worth visiting when in York.

I've been there a couple of times. It's a real 'little' gem.

Also worth a visit is the Boer War memorial in Duncombe place, near York Minster, with the names of all Yorkshiremen who died in the war.

Hi Bernice,
I have never been to York!
This is another reason to make the effort to visit.
When things get back to normal.
Thanks,
Steve

Well worth visiting, Steve. Plenty of ABW memorials in the cathedral too, most of which I was able to photograph. One of the best things I did was go out of the hotel at 7.30am, while it was still dark, and walk round the old streets when people were just beginning to come in for work, and the sky was beginning to lighten. No tourists around (except for me) and I got some nice photos. There's loads to see and do in York.
