I have a renamed pair , as follows ,to Thomas Shone which came ex family with a 1914-5 Trio + SWB to TLH Shone , the famous mining pioneer:
Cape GSM + Basutoland & Transkei ( Lt T L H Shone Hershel N.Contg)
QSA + CC,OFS,Tvl,SA01 ( Inspr. T L H Shone Impl.Transport )
There apparently is a QSA + CC to Conductor LTH Shone on roll for Imp.Tpt,Service ( initials in different order )
I am wondering whether there is any possible evidence to support entitlement to Cape GSM

As Rookie says, there are no near matches other than Captain Stone.

I do not think that the CGSM Roll is necessarily the end of this research.
There is apparently a late issue register of CGSMs which are not on the roll.Might Shone be on this ?
Also : might there be any mention of him in records of the Herschel Native Contingent ( some of which are listed in the note to the Tylden entry ; these include a Roll of HNC officers in Colonial Forces Order No.217 of 21-4-1881 ) ?
