I'm guessing that with rehumitism and bad knees, that ladder to the observation gallery may have proved very costly indeed!

Many thanks for your help. I note that David Biggins in the book "Kimberley: Siege Account & Medal Roll" on page123has Chambers falling 70feet. I was wondering where this additional information came from?

Hi,
The article below (if you can call it that) was the only information that I could find with regards to the conning tower incident. For such a small article you would at least hope that they couldĀ have got the location of this event correct.
