Very nice to see the old grave cross in situ.

That is certainly a most impressive memorial, little expense spared, I should imagine.

"Pr William Berry, whose death is recorded, is a native of Ottery St. Mary, and his parents still reside at Coombe Lake, in that place."
The Western Times, Saturday 5th May 1900

Coombelake, as it's now known, is the other side of the A30 to Escot House, less than a mile away, and also quite close to Escot church. Perhaps William Berry's parents were buried there, but FindAGrave doesn't have any recorded headstones for the families of Berry or Richards in that churchyard (may not be a complete record - www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2577918/st-p...nd-st-james%2C-escot ). www.webbaviation.co.uk/aerial/picture.php?/29107

There are a number of possibilities for William Berry's birth registration (Ottery St. Mary then being in the Honiton registration district).
William Henry Berry, 1864.
William John Berry, 1866.
William Berry, birth registered in Honiton, second quarter of 1869.
William Berry, birth registered in Honiton, first quarter of 1871.
William Henry Berry, 1873.
William Edmund Berry, 1877.
William John Berry, 1880.

There were four George Richards and one George Frederick Richards born in the Honiton registration district between 1864 and 1879.
