That clarifies the situation.

Your pages 8 & 9 relate to 3502 William Lovell born Yeovil Somerset in 1874 enlisting in the Dorsetshire Regiment in August 1892.

Yes, he served in South Africa and was awarded the medals noted.

BUT, he is not the same man as 95164 William Thomas Lovell of the Royal Field Artillery whose pages you have as 1 – 7.

Fairly well shaken and scruff of neck released.

Best

Thank you, Peter.
So it is merely an error on FindmyPast? The nine pages were all together when I opened the file.
Does that mean I am missing the real (correct) page 8?

My membership has since expired, so I can't assess the files any more....

The nine pages are not together now. What you have as 8 & 9 are now pages 1 & 2 of the different William Lovell.
Does that mean I am missing the real (correct) page 8?
No. Page 8 is a repeat of your page 6 – an unfilled page of no interest.

To recap –
You have all the information relative to 95164 William Thomas Lovell RFA.
He didn’t serve in South Africa and he wasn’t awarded any medals. He served in England until he went on the Army Reserve on 13/4/02. He was finally discharged from the Army Reserve on 3/1/05.

You have the 2 Discharge papers of 3502 William Lovell of the Dorsetshire Regiment who was discharged on 7 Aug 1908, and you see there the medals he was awarded for his service in South Africa.
What you don’t have are 4 pages of service papers for this William Lovell.

Is one of these men of interest to you ?

Best
