Hello - I was wondering if someone could tell me what I.M.R. stands for, as in "Served 23 Nov 00 to 14 Mar 01. to I.M.R."

IMR usually stands for the Imperial Military Railways.

He might be listed on this page; angloboerwar.com/unit-information/south-african-units/2590-imr

thank you for looking. According to your search facility he had also been with the Steinaecker Horse regiment but that is probably not relevant

From book "Steinaecker's Horsemen", your man had previous service with the Imperial Irregular Corps Depot and as an admin Clerk with the Border Horse. SH from 23/11/1900 to 14/03/1901 thence to IMR. Also served in the Rand Rifles. QSA with clasps Transvaal and SA901.
