Hi Frank,

there is some nice detail there, a very skilled piece of sculpting.
Did you notice the dark cloud behind the memorial?

It's actually only 3.5 hours drive down to LadySmith, a little like you driving to London, also motorway all the way. I was with my wife though who was understandably more interested in getting to the coast
Pop over, could do with someone to share it with!

regards, Iain

LOL Iain,
I would never drive into London, far quicker to take a train, but, I do see your point, bugger the clouds, get your umbrella out!
Regards Frank

LOL Frank,

I was over by the Hussar monument when the heavens opened, I got drenched getting back to the car, you cannot run over that terrain, if I hadnt been so cocky, I would have taken the umbrella with me!

Iain

I am pleased that you managed to visit Wagon Hill in spite of the efforts of the locals to thwart the 'battlefields tourism' industry.

Hi Brett,

thanks, I did enjoy it although it was initially frustrating.

You would think they would have a little more foresight though I do think it is an African thing to kill the goose that lays the golden egg!

I think that the real issue is that it is not regarded as "their" goose!
